A HELPLESS swan had to be rescued after getting stuck on a factory roof.
The bird is thought to have become stranded on the roof of the factory in Broad Oak Road, Accrington, at about 3.40pm today.
And the swan was eventually rescued after the RSPCA called for firefighters to assist in its rescue.
Firefighters from Hyndburn gained access to the roof of the two-storey and managed to bring the swan back down to safety.
The incident comes after one swan died and another was left with severe injuries after they were shot with an airgun.
The RSPCA launched an appeal for information after the 'callous attack' in Clayton-le-Moors at around 9am on Thursday (December 28).
