COUNTY council chiefs are set to make further enquiries after concerns were raised about overgrowth on a public footpath in Accrington.
Hyndburn MP Graham Jones wrote to Lancashire County Council about the ginnel connecting Waddington Road to Elmwood Close after being contacted by constituents.
In response Jo Turton, chief executive of the council, said: "It appears that the footpath is in good order although there is a little overgrowth from trees or bushes on adjacent land at the Waddington Road area.
"However we have so far been unable to find the owner of the land who is responsible for cutting back this overgrowth.
"Although the overgrowth is not making it difficult to walk along the footpath as it only hangs partially over the side we will make further enquiries and if we are unable to discover the owner and if the vegetation begins to encroach on the path, such that it is difficult to use we will arrange for it to be cut back."
