A MAN who dumped waste in Bath Street, Accrington, has been convicted in court.

Adeel Din, 22, of Blake Street in the town, pleaded guilty at Blackburn Magistrates Court to having fly-tipped waste on the site and was ordered to pay £390 in fines and costs.

Steve Riley, head of environmental services at Hyndburn Council said: “Mr Din was caught on CCTV dumping domestic waste in Bath Street in Accrington.

“As a result Mr Din was taken to court where he was ordered to pay £390 in fines and costs.

“We always try and work with residents to help them manage their waste properly.

“However, we will take enforcement action in cases like this, where people fly-tip waste, leave bags of rubbish on the back street or next to wheeled bins.

“It’s unsightly and really distressing for the people living nearby who take pride in their local environment.

“Residents are asking the council to take a tough line on fly-tippers and we welcome incidents being reported.

“Your help is invaluable in bringing the culprits to task. So if you witness an incident, please report it via the Myhyndburn app or call us on 01254 388111.”
