A BUSINESS boss in Hyndburn has backed plans for The Original Factory Shop to open at the old Marks and Spencer site in Accrington.
M&S shut its store in Broadway in March last year after 54 years of trading in the town.
Now The Original Factory Shop Clearance is set to open at the site on Thursday, May 11, and will create nine new jobs.
Shahed Mahmood from the Hyndburn Chamber of Trade said: “It’s excellent news, it’s great that someone is taking over the old site.
“It shows that Accrington town centre can still attract business and slowly the empty shops are filling up.
“It’s definitely welcome moving forward.”
It aims to bring customers brands at discount prices.
