A MAN has appeared before Blackburn Magistrates accused of murdering a man in his Accrington flat.
Arif Muhammed, of Washington Street, Accrington, was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court charged with murdering Mohammed Yousaf at a property in Granville Road, Accrington.
It is alleged Muhammed killed Mr Yousaf between September 19 and September 21.
Mr Yousaf's body was found last Wednesday. Detectives said he was discovered in bed with serious head injuries.
Zabair Afzal,defending Muhammed, said his client would be entering a not guilty plea when he appears at the Crown Court tomorrow.
The brief proceedings at the magistrates court were conducted with the assistance of a Punjabi interpreter.
The news comes as a woman accused of conspiring to murder Mr Yousaf has been released on bail.
The 37-year-old woman, from Todmorden, was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of conspiracy to murder but has now been released on bail until November 3.
