In a letter to parents, headmaster Richard Jones said: “Thank you for supporting our ban on mobile phones.
“I am delighted with the way in which pupils have responded in such a mature way to this change and it is heartening to see young people engaging with each other in face-to-face conversation rather than looking at a phone screen or listening to music.
“The number of issues and incidents relating to mobile technology has also reduced dramatically, allowing staff more time to concentrate on teaching.”
