SINGING star Diana Vickers has landed a starring role as the face of a London fashion house.

The East Lancashire X Factor finalist is the new face of luxury tailoring brand Joshua Kane’s AW15 advertising campaign, which draws its inspiration from an explorer who disappeared in the Amazon jungle in his quest to find a lost city.

Diana, who studied at Westholme School in Blackburn, burst on to the music scene back in 2008 on the hit ITV Saturday night singing competition.

Now the Accrington singer has turned to modelling and was snapped alongside George Craig, the lead singer of One Night Only, in the firm’s London flagship store by photographer Bart Pajak.

The couple also feature in a film campaign which has been directed by Kane himself.

The collection centres around explorer Percy Fawcett, who Kane describes as “a rakish gentleman who cut a fine figure across Victorian society and someone who was always impeccably dressed in a black frock coat, waistcoat, and top hat”. Kane believes the collection highlights three key stages in Fawcett’s life; his youth as a dandy, his voyages and his heroic return as a mature man.

The archaeologist and South American explorer is believed to have been the inspiration for the Indiana Jones character.

It’s a far cry from what Diana will be wearing this autumn when she stars in the hit rock and roll musical The Rocky Horror Show.

She will play the role of Janet Weiss as director Christopher Luscombe creates a new production to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the avant-garde show.

Last month the Boy Who Murdered Love singer celebrated her 24th birthday in sunny Madrid, Spain.

Diana was the bookies’ favourite to win The X Factor and her debut album, Songs from the Tainted Cherry Tree, reached number one in the charts after the show.

She said: “It feels like a long time ago, it’s just one of those things that you do.

“The X Factor lasted six months for me and it was a really big thing.”

Last month she was photographed in an excitable hug with her one-time rival Ruth Lorenzo as they shared an afternoon together in Barcelona.

The Spanish songstress made it through to the live final of The X Factor in 2008, which was won by Alexandra Burke, after she was mentored by Danni Minogue.

Lorenzo represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest last year, performing the song Dancing in the Rain, scoring 74 points and finishing in 10th place.
