A CUTE young lad has captivated staff at his local supermarket so much that he has been given an unofficial management role.

Little Kyron Howie, from Rishton, loves the Accrington Asda store so much that that he pesters his mum to take him to visit the there almost every day.

And such is his popularity that he’s been dubbed the ‘Junior Store Manager’ by the staff there.

When colleagues at Asda found out about the four-old boy’s obsession with the supermarket they invited Kyron and his mum Bobbie to breakfast in the canteen and treated him to a full tour of the store.

Bobbie said: “Kyron’s fascination with Asda came from nowhere.

“I always take him with me shopping, but after a while he wanted to go every day and still does.

“He just loves meeting the staff there in their different roles and often wants to help them do their job.

“We even had the store manager come up and joke to us that he could probably do his job, as he’s such a fan.

“He likes the fruit and vegetable section, but perhaps not surprisingly his absolute favourite part of the store is the toy aisle where he can find his favourite Disney and My Little Pony toys.

“He’s has said on many occasions he would love to work at the store.

“A friend passed on an old work shirt from Asda and another made him a badge which he loves to dress up in.

“He’s very well known in Rishton for his love of Asda, much to the amusement of all my friends and family.”

Community Life Champion at Asda Accrington, June Smith, added: “Kyron is a real cutie and we all go out of our way to provide a friendly welcome to him.

“It brightens up our day to see him and his mum.

“It’s lovely to see him and gratifying for all the team here to hear just how much Kyron enjoys his visits with his mum – he’s always smiling, so we must be doing something right.”
