AN Accrington woman has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after making nuisance calls to the emergency services.
The woman, who was not named by police but lives in Lonsdale Street, will now be monitored for two years.
A spokesman from the Central and Springhill neighbourhood policing team said: “The issues caused have impacted on the emergency services as a result of phoning the 999 number when it is not necessary, the local residents and also the individual herself.
“Anti-social behaviour incidents are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.
“Residents who continue to behave in such a way will be at risk of being subject to new ASB legislation.”
CBOs came into force on October 20, 2014. The CBO replaces the Anti-social Behaviour Order on conviction.
