A MAN out walking his dog along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal was robbed at knifepoint.

The 31-year-old Rishton man was walking along the canal path on Cut Lane between High Street and Cutwood Park in Rishton when he was approached from behind by two men, one on a BMX type bicycle, and threatened with a knife.

The victim, who had been listening to music on his grey iPhone 5s, handed over his phone and the attackers made off towards Rishton.

The man carrying the knife is described as 6ft 2ins, slim build, clean shaven, with buck teeth and was wearing dark clothing with a hood covering his head. He is thought to have spoken with an Eastern European accent.

The second man, who was on the bike, is described as wearing dark clothing and also had his hood up.

Detective Sergeant Simon Upton, from Blackburn CID, said: “This appears to have been an isolated incident and I urge anyone with any information about it at all to get in touch.

“Did you see anyone matching these men’s descriptions?

“Were you in the area at the time? Call us if you think you could help.”
