Clayton-le-Moors closed pub by canal reopens

A CLOSED canalside pub has reopened in Clayton-le-Moors.

The Albion Hotel, on Whalley Road has been acquired by the aptly named Albion Ventures and Bravo Inns Ltd.

The pub’s new owners have completed a high quality refurbishment to revitalise the pub, which is next to a canal and has a large beer garden.

The pub is Bravo’s thirtieth acquisition to date and the pub company is credited with the ability to turn around heavily underperforming pubs.

Sites acquired over the last two years, have seen improved profits of over 20 per cent.

Ken Buckley, Managing Director at Bravo Inns Ltd, said: “We’re delighted to have passed this milestone and the name of our new acquisition is fitting given the tremendous support we’ve received from Albion over the years. Our approach shows how well managed pubs can combine commercial success with the ability to play a key role in supporting their local community.”

Who said pubs were dead? How long will it stay open? If it does well will the brewery hike the prices to drive the landlord/lady out? Like they have done to the Tavern in Great Harwood?
