Purse alarms help Hyndburn's elderly in police drive

PURSE alarms have been handed to hundreds of elderly residents as part of a crime prevention drive in a borough.

Neighbourhood police officers have spoken to hundreds of residents in Church and Accrington giving them tips on how to stay safe. PCSO Paul Crossland said: “This was part of an ongoing awareness campaign in Accrington Town Centre after a number of successful events.

“We will continue to carry out similar initiatives in the future. Anyone who would like a purse alarm or advice can contact police on 101.”
