A HUGE new survey of the flood risk in Hyndburn is to be completed.
Coun Brian Roberts, Hyndburn Council’s deputy leader, said: “This is a serious piece of work to manage the potential flood risk in the borough, particularly the River Hyndburn in Accrington, at Tinker Brook in Oswaldtwistle and the River Calder in Altham.
“We all know the damage that can be caused by flooding and the survey will also look at the quality of the culverts and come up with a plan of action for us.”
The work is to be carried out in conjunction with the Environment Agency.
