A MAN has been airlifted to hospital with a serious leg injury.
The incident happened at the Altham Industrial Estate in Metcalf Drive, Altham at about 9am today.
An air ambulance, an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were called to the scene of the incident.
People on the social media said they had seen a helicopter heading towards the industrial estate.
The man, in his mid 50s, was flown to Royal Preston Hospital.
An ambulance service spokeswoman said the man had suffered a ‘workplace injury’ at a premises on the industrial estate.
She said: “We sent an air ambulance, rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to a premises on Altham Industrial Estate, Metcalf Drive, Altham, at 9.02am.
“A man suffered a serious leg injury after a workplace injury at a premises on the industrial estate.
“The man in his mid 50s was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital with a serious leg injury.”
