POLICE are appealing for information after an elderly couple were injured in a collision in Oswaldtwistle.

The 78-year-old man, and 79-year-old woman, were crossing the road between Union Road and Lord Street when they were in a collision with a silver Ford Fiesta on February 20 at around 4.05pm.

The woman was left with a serious head injury and a broken pelvis whilst man suffered cuts to his head.

They were taken to Royal Preston Hospital and their conditions have been described as serious but stable.

Sgt Oliver Jones from the Road Policing Unit said: “We need anyone who may have seen this incident to come forward and speak to us as they may have vital information that could assist with our investigation into why this collision happened.

“If you can help, please call us on 101, quoting incident reference 924 of February 20th.”
