RESIDENTS are being urged to make sure they dispose of their rubbish to combat fly-tipping.
Cllr Paul Cox, who represents the Milnshaw ward for Hyndburn Council, has reminded people the council provides a free bulky goods selection after noticing several incidents of dumping each month over the past year.
Residents can download the 'my.hyndburn' app which will enable them to arrange rubbish collection from their phone.
The deputy council leader hit out at people who do not dispose of their litter correctly and encouraged others not to do the same.
Cllr Cox said: "This type of action really disappoints me.
"We all have a duty of care to dispose of our waste in the correct manner.
"But a handful of individuals disregard this and choose to litter our streets."
"At Hyndburn Council, the Labour controlling group has pledged to provide free bulky goods collections.
"We have also invested in new technologies which allows both online request service and the bin app, which launched earlier this year."
