AN eight-year-old boy battling cerebral palsy was left feeling exhausted but still managed to complete ‘his biggest challenge yet’.

Finley Rosbotham, from Accrington, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was three months old and was initially told he may never walk or talk.

Last week the Peel Park Primary pupil took part in the school's sponsored fancy dress fun run and completed eight laps of the football field, despite only intending to do five.

His mum Kelly Rosbotham said: "He's so amazing and we are all so proud of him.

"He absolutely loved it.

"He was very tired the next day and a bit battered and bruised but he is fine now."

He managed to raise more than £450 in sponsorship for the run which will go towards school funds.

He was dressed as a bear for the fancy dress run which took place around two months after he had botox in his legs to loosen the muscles and hopefully allow more movement in his leg to prevent him having surgery for as long as possible.

Finley's twin sister Ellie also took part in the run.
