A PUB is hoping to attract more customers after being nominated for another award.

The White Bull in Oswaldtwistle has been nominated by MP Graham Jones as a contender for the national Parliamentary Pub Chef of The Year awards.

Kelly-Jayne Johnson, who runs the pub in New Lane, said is delighted the pub and chef Peter Johnson have been nominated for the award.

She said: “Winning more awards will get more people to come along and visit us at the pub. We want to be known for our food.

“Pete is really excited to be nominated and to get focused for it. We’ve been getting some good vibes for it.

“It’s great for the pub and it’s also great for the whole area.”

Regional winners will be selected in the next six to eight weeks who will then go on to a live national final next year,

The White Bull in New Lane has already found success this year by winning the ‘Best Turnaround’ prize at the Thwaites Pub Awards in June.
