A ROTTWEILER-CROSS has been happily rehomed thanks to the help of the RSPCA Lancashire East Branch, but two more dogs are awaiting help.

The charity’s centre in Altham was contacted by the dog’s former owner who said he was unable to care for her and her two sisters.

The story featured on Dog Rescuers on Channel 5 this week.

Nanuk has been found a new home with Rory Johnson, while sisters Priya and Star, are still being cared for at the Altham centre.

Mr Johnson said: “She’s a cracking dog. The first night I brought her home I think we bonded because she followed me everywhere. She came up to bed, jumped on the bed, and slept there.”

Staff at the RSPCA said they hope to find homes for the other dogs soon after their previous owner signed them over.

RSPCA inspector Lindsey Taylor said: “He’d tried everything he could think of to keep his dogs, who he’d had for seven years, since they were puppies.

“I don’t even want to try to imagine what that would be like.

“I’m so happy that Nanuk has gone to a wonderful new home and hope it won’t be too long before Priya and Star find their forever families too.”
