ROTARIANS have teamed up with youngsters from across Hyndburn to carry out a variety of litter picks.
Clean-ups have been held around St Andrew’s Primary School in Oswaldtwistle and St Nicholas School in Church by RotaKids groups in these areas.
A litter pick was also carried out by Rotarians around the Peel Park area of Accrington, which produced 12 bags of litter.
Organisers want to get more schools involved in clean up activities and hold an annual clean up
President of the Rotary Club of Church and Oswaldtwistle Jim Hargreaves said: “As one of the presidents involved with this ‘Litter Pick’ programme, I am very proud of what Hyndburn Rotarians and especially the students from the two RotaKids schools, have undertaken.
“These young students from local Primary schools, have very much impressed senior members of the Rotary clubs.”
Hyndburn Council provided litter picking equipment and arranged collection of the sacks of rubbish.
