A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy battling liver cancer has found out the date of his next big surgery which should boost his chances of survival.

The family of Charlie Procter, from Church, have said that the youngster is set for an operation to remove 90 per cent of his liver in Birmingham next week.

They will be travelling to Birmingham Children’s Hospital on Tuesday ahead of surgery the next day.

Mum Amber Schofield, 22, said: “Finding out that he could have his liver done in the UK was amazing and exciting but actually having a date is the scariest feeling we’ve had through this journey.

“The morning of May 17 will be the most worrying time of our life.”

The family previously set a £315,000 target to get him to America for surgery. He will still need to go to Cincinnati for a lung operation because of how the cancer has spread but they are hoping the total money needed will now decrease.
