A SERIES of fly-tipping incidents have been cleared after being reported Accrington.
Over the last week residents in Marlborough Road and Ramsbottom Street have seen mattresses, wardrobes and fridges left in their streets.
Cllr Paul Cox, Hyndburn Council’s cabinet holder for environmental services, said he is ‘frustrated’ as these goods can be arranged for collection.
He said: “It frustrates me when items are just thrown onto the back street and left for others to move.
“The cost of clearing these items comes at the taxpayers expense.
“What is equally annoying is the fact a phone call or a quick use of the My Hyndburn app would have allowed these goods to be collected.”
Waste enforcement officers visited the site looking for any evidence to hopefully help towards prosecution and fines.
