A MAN has been given a 12-month conditional discharge after admitting to obstructing a police man in the execution of his duty.
Blackburn Magistrates Court heard how Lee Frank Tattersall, of Norfolk Grove in Church, committed the offence against PC Mead.
The offence took place in Blackburn on January 29.
An accusation the 34-year-old used towards another threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause those persons to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against them by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by them whereby those persons were likely to believe that such violence would be used, or it was likely that such violence would be provoked was withdrawn.
That offence was said to have taken place in Accrington on the same day.
As well as being given the conditional discharge, Tattersall was ordered to pay £50 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Meanwhile magistrates decided to take £576 off a £901 court fine and the total amount off a 576 court fine which Tattersall had failed to pay.
That was because of a change of circumstances for the defendant.
The fines were issued by magistrates on January 5 and February 27, respectively.
