ACCRINGTON Stanley Football Club has created an ‘honours wall’ listing fans who helped contribute to fundraising for a big screen.

Fans bid on the opportunity to have their names put on the board as part of the club’s ‘Up in Lights’ campaign to fund the screen at the ground.

The club reached it’s £20,000 fundraising target in February and now the honours wall has been put up at the Fanzone at the Wham Stadium to pay tribute to fans who contributed.

Anthony Cox, a Stanley fan from Oswaldtwistle who died in 2010 aged 33, is also remembered on the wall after auctioning off his club memorabilia for the cause.

Peter Leatham, chairman of the Official Accrington Stanley supporters group, said: “It’s a great way to pay tribute to some of the clubs stalwart fans.

“It’s a wonderful reward for people who have played their part in this project, there’s been a lot of interest.”

A limited number of spaces still remain on the wall.

For more information about how to apply to have your name on the wall visit the supporters club desk in the fanzone on matchdays.

It is hoped the big screen will be in place later this year.
