HYNDBURN MP Graham Jones has called for a controversial shake up of East Lancashire Parliamentary constituencies to be put on hold.
He said the figures on which the redrawing of the House of Commons map of MPs is based are wrong.
The Labour MP has conducted research which he believes shows the number of voters in his seat has been underestimated by 3,565, 5.2 per cent of the total.
The Boundary Commission for England’s draft proposals mean one East Lancashire constituency is likely to vanish at the 2020 General Election.
Mr Jones said: “Hyndburn will have nearly twice as many missing electors as other constituencies, according to new research carried out by the House of Commons Library.
“The number of potential voters has increased from 68,093 in 2015 to 71,658 in 2016, a 5.2 per cent increase."
