HYNDBURN Leisure Trust has recorded a loss more than £20,000 worse than expected over the past year, according to new figures.
For the period to January 31, the trust had budgeted for a loss of £7,622 but the actual result was a loss of £31,284.
The results have been included in a document to Hyndburn Council's scrutiny committee.
Last year management accounts showed a profit of £22,265, which means there has been a £53,549 decrease over the past year.
The report from Steve Tanti, chief executive of Hyndburn Leisure, said that recent changes at the leisure centre should provide improved business.
He said: "Hyndburn Leisure Centre reopened on February 20 providing an improved income stream for the business.
“In 2017, we will open a new soft play centre in half of the sports hall, which will bring a brand new income stream to the trust.”
