A 40-YEAR-OLD man who went to help his ex-partner and a friend when two men barged into their house ended up being arrested.
Blackburn magistrates heard Andrew Anthony Kehoe’s actions brought him into contact with his former girlfriend which put him in breach of a restraining order.
Kehoe, of Talbot Street, Rishton, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order in favour of Samantha Lord.
He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
Deborah Morgan, defending, said Kehoe was walking along Knowles Street when he noticed something going on.
“He went to check and was about to speak to two men who had forced their way into the house were his ex-partner was,” said Miss Morgan.
“The police arrived at that moment but they were not there because of him but because of what was going on.”
