A HUNCOAT councillor has joined calls against ‘disruptive’ mini motorcycle users.

Cllr Bernard Dawson, who represents the area on Hyndburn Council, echoed concerns by residents recently about the disruption.

People in the area had been having a number of issues with people riding round on the mini-motorcycles.

Cllr Dawson said this is an issue in the area that is constantly being looked at.

He said: “It’s a big issue all over the town.

“We’ve been having a big nuisance with them, its one of those problems that keep coming up.

“It’s disruptive and is constantly causing damage to footpaths.

“The problem is it’s something that is hard to catch, people need to be on the look out and act if they see anything.”

People who live in the village have said they have been plagued by the bike riders for months.

They are thought to be responsible for breaking off part of the kissing gate in Altham Lane, which was installed in December.

It cost around £700 and was paid for through money raised by the volunteers who are part of the Huncoat Community Forum.
