COUNCILLORS will review the borough’s response to proposals to change the boundaries of the Hyndburn Parliamentary constituency on Friday.
The seat, represented by Labour MP Graham Jones, will be redrawn in a new Parliamentary map due to take effect in 2020.
In November the borough’s full council gave provisional support to the Boundary Commission for England’s initial proposal for new Accrington constituency but asked for the name Hyndburn to be retained.
On Friday the authority’s Communities and Wellbeing Overview and Scrutiny Committee will be asked to discuss this decision.
It has been asked specifically to consider whether Hyndburn or Accrington is the best title for the new seat.
The proposals include the loss of Haslingden to Rossendale and Darwen and the gain of Padiham from Burnley.
