TWO taxi drivers were taken to hospital after an early-morning crash in Oswaldtwistle.

The crash happened at the junction of Thwaites Road and Blackburn Road at around 2.20am today.

Both men were helped out of their cars by firefighters from Hyndburn Station.

Although both men were taken to hospital their injuries were described as "

There were no passengers in either taxi.

Firefighters, paramedics and police all attended the incident.

The road was blocked off whilst the emergency services carried out their work.

A fire service spokesman said: "Two hours into 2017 and two crews from Hyndburn attended a road traffic collision involving two taxis.

"The incident happened at the junction of Thwaites Road and Blackburn Road Oswaldtwistle.

"There were no passengers in the taxi's and the drivers received minor injuries.

"We assisted both drivers from the vehicles and they were conveyed to hospital."
