MARKS and Spencer will shut its Accrington store at the end of this month.
After 54 years of trading, the store on Broadway will close its doors for the final time on Wednesday, March 30, with a new M&S foodhall in Rawtenstall opening the following day.
All shop staff from the Accrington branch will join the Rawtenstall team or other nearby M&S stores.
When the closure of the Accrington store was announced 14 months ago it was described a 'devastating blow' for shoppers in the town.
The 7,500 sq ft store will be the chain's largest foodhall in East Lancashire.
Located on New Hall Hey Retail Park, close to Rawtenstall town centre, customers will benefit from free parking.
