Horse rescued from ditch
A HORSE was rescued from a ditch by firefighters in Rishton this morning.
Fire crews were called to Blackburn Road just before 8am after receiving reports that the horse was unable to get out of the ditch.

Specialist animal rescue equipment and trained officers from Darwen Fire Station attended the scene and used ropes and slings to pull the horse to safety.
