AN Accrington woman has been named as the victim of a fatal road collision in Scarborough.
Samantha Higham, 44, died on the A165 Coastal Road near Burniston, Scarborough, on Sunday, September 13, police have said.
A spokesman said: “At about 10.45am on September 13, a blue Citroen Xsara Picasso travelling north along the A165 was in collision with a red Yamaha motorcycle, which was travelling in the same direction.
“Samantha, the pillion passenger on the motorcycle, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 40s was seriously injured.”
The police have said that they are keen to speak to the driver of a maroon bus or van-type vehicle which passed the vehicles shortly before the crash occurred.
