A 38-year-old man who got into the car to go and look for his wife after a row failed a breathalyser, a court was told.
Damian Keith Chamberlain, 38, of Grove Street, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
He was fined £200 with £150 criminal court charge, £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
He was banned from driving for 18 months.
Paul Huxley, defending, said Chamberlain had gone to the pub after an argument with his wife and when he got back the argument continued.
“She drove off in one of their cars and he foolishly got in the other car to go and look for her,” said Mr Huxley.
