A GREAT Harwood man spat in his estranged partner’s face as she was holding a baby.

Blackburn magistrates heard three days’ later that Yaseran Ilyas, 32, went to the medical centre where she worked and shouted abuse about her in the reception where patients were waiting.

And the court heard the offences had prompted his recall on prison licence, which could see him behind bars until May 2017.

Ilyas was returning the child to the woman when there was an argument and he accused her of being involved in a relationship with the pharmacist at work.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said: “She had the baby in her arms when he approached her and spat in her face.”

Mr Ilyas, of St Edmund Street, pleaded guilty to assault and using threatening behaviour. He was fined £400 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £150 criminal court charge, £85 costs and £40 victim surcharge.
