Riley, of Sultan Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to assaulting Leanne Maudsley. She was fined £50 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, £105 costs and £150 criminal court charge. She was excluded from Baileys in Accrington town centre for six months.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Miss Maudsley had been out with friends and they ended up in Baileys. She was sitting at the bar when Riley approached her and started an argument.
“Without warning she then just punched her in the face,” said Miss Allan. “As Miss Maudsley walked away she realised her mouth was bleeding and she reported the incident to the doormen who called the police.”
Alexander Rostron, defending, said his client had been drinking all day and didn’t know what had happened.
“She was honest enough to admit to police that she couldn’t remember the incident,” said Mr Rostron.”
