ORGANISERS behind the Fusion Festival, to be held in Rhyddings Park, Oswaldtwistle next month, have thanked local businesses for their generosity.

Visitors are expected to visit the park on Sunday, July 5, to help raise funds for next year's Oswaldtwistle Festival, with at least 10 local bands playing throughout the afternoon.

Gayle Knight, who also runs the Civic Arts Centre and Theatre, said: "Spar in Thwaites Road have been extremely generous and have donated £500 worth of chocolate for the tombola.

"The Stop and Rest have also donated a considerable amount."

A fairground with rides for all ages will also be at the festival, as well as several stalls.

Gayle added: "After last year's carnival, two issues were raised, about the price of rides and the lack of rides for the very young. Both of these issues will be addressed."
