DON’T get left on the shelf – get hitched with a selfie.

Courting couples across Hyndburn can win the wedding of their dreams with their snuggling snaps and pouting poses.

Accrington Town Hall is offering a wedding reception in its refurbished ballroom – with the most likes for any engagement selfie uploaded on its Facebook page winning the £1,500 package.

The prize includes a red carpet champagne arrival, a personal wedding planner, a bridal suite, a DJ playing your first dance and a month’s gym membership for the bride and groom.

The ballroom can host up to 350 people for a wedding reception and the big day must happen before March 31 next year, and it cannot be on a Saturday.

Amanda Watson and Andrew Webber were among the first to upload a series of pictures capturing their six-year romance, with a picture of a beautiful engagement ring.

Rachel Derbyshire has also shown off her band of betrothal and a smooching shot of her snogging the lucky guy – but failed to name him.

And Kerrie Halpin listed the date she was asked the Big Question – but again did not identify her future husband! And spare a thought for those born before the age of self-taken poses and Kim Kardashian’s coronation as the Queen of the Selfie.

Alexis Brunskill’s ring is gorgeous – but the proposal was 12 years ago so she can’t win.

Kerry Smith, Accrington Town Hall’s cultural service manager, said: “There’s been a buzz about the ballroom among Hyndburn’s brides and grooms to be since our wedding fair earlier this year.

“We know how expensive weddings can be so we’d love to help one snap happy couple lighten the load.”
