ALMOST 500 people turned out to raise £25,000 for various good causes at Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary Club’s annual walk.
The majority of walkers started and finished the 10km trek at Junction 7 Business Park in Clayton-le-Moors, taking in the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the old railway through Great Harwood.
A 5km walk and 5km fun run were also held before participants rounded the day off with live music, a tombola and a dog competition yesterday afternoon.
Michael Jackson, the rotary club’s spokesman, said: “The £25,000 will go to various causes – Nepal, local football clubs and scout groups.”
