RESIDENTS in Somerset Road in Rishton have voiced their anger at inconsiderate motorists parking “so badly, driveways are being blocked and people are having abuse thrown at them”.
The issue has prompted one local councillor to contact the county council and ask for restrictions to be put in place.
The problem happens when drivers park in the turning circle beside Cut Lane, next to Cut Wood Park off Blackburn Road, one resident said.
He said: “When some people returned to their cars and my neighbour asked them not to park, they gave him abuse.
“They shouted there is no sign about parking, but surely a bit of common sense tells you you are parked outside somebody’s driveway.”
Cllr Ken Moss said: “It’s great that people want to use the park but all we ask is for a bit of consideration for the people who live nearby.”
