HYNDBURN dog owners will get an opportunity to get your dogs micro-chipped for free next month before it becomes compulsory next year.

From April 6, 2016 micro chipping will be compulsory for all canines in England. The borough council’s dog warden service will join forces with the Dog’s Trust to offer a free micro chipping session in Oswaldtwistle on Thursday, January 29.

They will be next to the town’s Co-op, opposite the Library on Union Road from 11am till 3pm, There is a need for owners to book, they should turn up and join the queue.

Council environment boss Paul Cox said: “Why not get ahead of the game and bring your dog along to a micro chipping session.”
