TWO men arrested after a house exploded in Clayton-le-Moors have been bailed for the fifth time.
In the early hours of April 15 last year, a semi-detached house in Cumberland Avenue was destroyed by a huge blaze and firefighters described the blaze as one of the biggest residential fires seen in East Lancashire in recent years.
Firefighters battled for four hours and the Hyndburn Homes property had to be demolished the day afterwards. The occupants, said to be a couple with two young children, were not in the house.
A 20-year-old man from Clitheroe and a 24-year-old man from Accrington were arrested on suspicion of arson, and were bailed to a date in June, before being rebailed to September 4, then November 7, and then January 9. Lancashire Constabulary said they are now due to answer bail on April 2.
