THE sister of a terminally ill Accrington dad has vowed to help him make precious memories with his son.

Doctors recently broke the devastating news that Clint Houlahan, 27, is dying from lung cancer and gave him a year to live.

The young dad of Oliver, one, and step-son, Curtis, six, is currently in hospital in Wythenshawe receiving specialist care.

But he is hoping to return home in the next week.

And his sister Zhara Houlahan, 26, is determined to raise £5,000 by organising a family fun day at Tricky’s Pub in Oswaldtwistle. Zhara, who lives in Griffin Close, Huncoat, said: “Clint has many wishes in the 12 months they have given him to help leave as many happy memories as possible for his 21-month-old, family, and friends, that we can all look back on, smile, and think of the times we have spent with him.

“He’s not giving up, and he’s fighting to the end.

“He’s a strong man who wants to see his little boy grow into a man.”

Clint worked as a joiner and fitter before he fell ill.

From noon until 5pm on Sunday, August 31, a range of activities will be hosted at Tricky’s, in Thwaites Road, including face painting, a bouncy castle, a raffle, and disco.
