A DANCING group is celebrating the success of steps to raise funds for local causes.
Stanhill Dancers, Oswaldtwistle, have raised £16,000 over the past four years for numerous local causes. The group have taken part in fundraising sequence dancing events at different locations each month to raise hundreds for several charities. Among their donations was £8,000 to Stanhill Methodist Church, plus another £8,000 to other charities.
In the past 12 months alone, the dancers raised £2,100. This saw £600 go to The Royal British Legion, £300 to the British Liver Trust, £300 to The Alzheimers Society, £300 to the North West Air Ambulance, £300 to The National Deaf Children’s Society, and £300 to the RNLI.
The group’s next social dance will be on Saturday, February 16 at the Poplar Club, in Accrington.
