A 32-year-old man who indecently exposed himself in front of a train passenger later told police it was just a case of ‘boys being boys’.

Blackburn magistrates heard Adam Greenwood was one of a number of drunken football fans travelling home from pre-season friendlies in the Blackpool area.

The yobs were daring each other to do ‘bolder and bolder’ things and Greenwood eventually dropped his trousers.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said: “After he had pulled his pants up he said, ‘Sorry mate’.”

Miss Allan said the train had been crowded at the time of the incident and one female passenger had been so distressed she had seen fit to contact the police. Greenwood was arrested when the train pulled into Blackburn station.

Greenwood, 32, of Grange Avenue, Accrington, pleaded guilty to indecently exposing himself.

He was made subject to an electronically monitored curfew for 12 weeks between 7 pm and 7 am.
