Accrington firm donates 250 food parcels to the needy
4:02pm Wednesday 19th December 2012 in Hyndburn
ONE of East Lancashire’s fastest growing firms, Accrol Papers, is giving 250 food parcels to the Maundy Relief charity, based in the boss’s home town of Accrington.
Chairman Jawid Hussain presented the much-needed Christmas fare to its co-founder Sister Dorothy McGregor to help its work combating poverty in the local area.
The firm, founded in Accrington in 1993, is extending its Roman Road/Davyfield Road site, in Blackburn, with a £30m new building, creating 100 new jobs in the next two years.
Majid Hussain, managing director, said: “We want to recognise there are people less fortunate than ourselves and a food parcel will help provide some relief over the festive period. We have nearly 250 employees and this number of food parcels therefore appeared appropriate.”
