AN ACCRINGTON workwear company has designed a uniform for a large care home operator to create a more homely environment for residents.
Kwintet’s new range, which will be rolled out to care home provider HC-One’s 16,000 staff this month, has been specifically designed to move away from the clinical look traditionally favoured, towards a more hospitality-inspired uniform.
Helen Harker, head of design at Kwintet, said: “When designing the workwear range, our main consideration was to create a uniform that would provide the necessary functionality for a clinical environment, without the ‘medical’ feel.
“In line with this, the crisp, modern design was inspired by the contemporary beauty and hospitality sectors.”
She added: “In terms of colour, studies have shown that the use of different shades can have an impact both on mood and recuperation times, particularly in older people.”
