Is lump and pain in back anything to worry about?

I get a sore back when I bend over forwards. I seem to have a lump protruding from my spine at the point I feel the pain. Is this anything to worry about?
Your letter suggests you are already worried about it, so see your doctor. Any new lump should be checked up on. It is impossible to give any sort of possible diagnosis on the basis of your short letter, but the usual cause of pain in the back like this is a muscular strain. Others include arthritis of the spine, an old injury, and problems linked with the prostate gland. You will need a full examination and possibly tests.
