HOSPITAL bosses met their target of almost all of the 21,752 people who visited Royal Blackburn or Burnley General receiving emergency treatment within four hours.
Some 98 per cent of patients were seen, treated and either sent home or admitted to a ward, within four hours in January and February.
Director of operations Val Bertenshaw said: “The trust had well-publicised difficulties in meeting the government’s requirements for emergency care during 2009, but small changes in the ways our clinical staff work, not just in the emergency department and urgent care but across all areas, has delivered real improvement.”
