HOSPITAL chiefs have offered advice to patients and staff for Ramadan.

Advice from East Lancashire Hospitals Trust includes for people with uncontrolled migraines not to fast while Muslims with type one diabetes shouldn't usually fast either.

Someone receiving a blood transfusion is advised not to fast on medical grounds.

Ramadan will start around May 14/15 and will finish on or around June 14 or 15.

Fasts will be up to 20 hours long.

Fasting commences at dawn and ends at sunset.

Each fast will get later as the month progresses.
